The General Secretariat can best be described as the bond that links the school to its surrounding associations and organizations. It exists to sustain professional relationships with the government, universities, and parents. To begin with, the General Secretariat serves as a link between Jesus and Mary and the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, keeping it updated with the latest statistics and information concerning the school. The Secretariat is also involved in students’ university registration and the field trips to the “Open Doors” organized by the universities themselves. In order to make things easier, the Secretariat has aided in planning a “Career Fair” in Jesus and Mary so that students may acquaint themselves with the best universities and consider their options. The Secretariat sets up all necessary documentations students need such as registration forms for the official exams, requested official certificates, diplomas… After the official exams, the Secretariat bids the students farewell by participating in the organization of their graduation ceremony and ensuring their proper admission to college. The follow up continues as the General Secretariat maintains contact with the school Alumni and organizes their meetings and events.
Not only is the Secretariat concerned with students but it also acts as a liaison between the school and the Parents’ Association guaranteeing that parents are always informed of the latest occurrences and decisions. Furthermore, it is responsible for the extra curricular activities that are held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. These include sports, arts and music. The organization of all the major events which take place throughout the academic year such as the Christmas Concert, JM Fingerprints, Claudine’s Feast, all religious retreats, scout or field trips … … is coordinated by the Secretariat as well.
The Secretariat coordinates with various school principals and prepares teachers’ numerous retreats and workshops. |
